Water Pollution

Water pollution has been an increasing problem over the last few years. Pollution itself is when a substance or energy is introduced into the soil, air, or water in a concentrate. Pollution comes in many forms; agricultural, urban runoff, industrial, sedimentary, animal wastes, and leeching from landfills/septic systems just to name a few. These pollutants are very detrimental to the environment. Whether they are alone or combined with another form of pollution they are very harmful. Over the last hundred years the problems with pollution have been increasing with time. This is due to both the increase in human population, and the increases in technology we have made as a society. If we plan on having our resources here for many years to come we are going to have to make some drastic changes in the way we treat the earth, and these changes will have to start with our pollutants.
Agricultural pollution is a very big contributor to water pollution. Problems we see with agriculture are applications of fertilizers, insecticides, and pesticides. http://www.megaessays.com/viewpaper/37753.html

Land Pollution

The land pollution is caused by solid wastes and chemicals. One of the major pollution problems of large cities is disposal of solid waste material including farm and animal manure, crop residues (agricultural wastes), industrial wastes such as chemicals, fly ash and cinders which are residues of combustion of solid fuels, garbage, paper, cardboard, plastics, rubber, cloth, leather, construction rubbish, brick, sand, metal and glass resulting from demolition of buildings, dead animals like catties, dogs, cats, birds, containers, discarded manufactured products such as old refrigerators, washing machines and autos. Huge quantities of unwanted material cause serious disposal problems. The simplest method is crud tipping or open dumping, a common method used in most Indian cities. More satisfactory is controlled tipping or the sanitary landfill, which is recently adopted in Delhi for solid waste disposal. In sanitary land fill, a layer of about 2 metres of refuse is covered by at least 23 cm of earth, ash or other inert material, up to the level of the hole chosen.
The surface can then be used for housing or sports fields. Before such filling, the wastes can be pulverized by machines to a uniform particle size: by this means the volume is reduced and thus the life of the tip is extended, and some of the refuge is more quickly biodegraded.
Further, many of the chemicals emitted into the air such as radioactive minerals, sulphur, and lead, eventually come to earth to pollute the soil. Many pesticides and herbicides are applied by aerosol spray and find their way into the soil. These chemicals may have significant effects on plants and animals, causing a disruption in species composition of communities.

In forest ecosystems, these chemical pollutants may inhibit processes of soil formation, and reduce the capacity of the forest to maintain fertility of the soil.

Smokes from Factories

Air pollution is a serious problem in our society these days. We come across it indoors, when people have been smoking, and outdoors, where motor vehicle exhaust pollutes the air. For years scientists have been warning us that polluted air is a hazard to our health. It seems these warning are not being taken acutely enough. The truth is that air pollution is growing worse, especially in compactly populated societies. We must for that reason take instantaneous action to progress the quality of air we breathe.
The moment you step out of the house and are on the road you can actually see the air getting polluted; a cloud of smoke from the exhaust of a bus, car, or a motor vehicle; smoke billowing from a factory chimney, flash produced by thermal power plants, and speeding cars causing dust to rise from the roads. Natural occurrences such as the eruption of a volcano and even someone smoking a cigarette can also cause air pollution.
Pollution is the infection of the earth’s atmosphere with materials that obstruct with human health, the feature of life, or the natural performance of ecosystems (living organisms and their physical environments). Although some environmental pollution is a consequence of natural causes like volcanic eruptions, most is caused by human actions.
Air pollution, one of many types of pollution, takes place inside homes, schools, and offices; in cities; across continents, even globally for that matter. Air pollution is the addition of harmful substances to the atmosphere resulting in damage to the environment, human health, and quality of life. It causes the sickness of people, from breathing problems and by promoting cancer. Air pollution harms plan...

Forest Fires

Forest fires are probably the most underrated disasters in the world; consequently, people don’t normally think of forest fires as being a big catastrophe. Most people are more worried about tsunamis or tornados rather than forest fires. In some countries, this is natural because their countries have a wet climate, so forest fires are not common. However in the United States, forest fires are a big problem; maybe even more so in some parts than tornados or other natural disasters. There are many causes of forest fires, also known as wildfires. Some of them include lightning, human carelessness, slash and burn farming, heat waves, and drought. The most common cause nowadays is probably human carelessness. Many fires get started when people are camping in the forest in the summer time when it is hot and dry. They make camp fires; and when a sudden gust of wind comes through and blows some ashes from the fire onto some dry, dead leaves, the whole forest starts to burn. The next most common cause is probably lightning. The lightning strikes a tree which causes sparks and flames to fly and they catch dead leaves and branches on fire and then once again the whole forest is burning uncontrollably. The last major cause of forest fires is slash and burn farming. In slash and burn farming fires are used to clear the land and make the soil more fertile, but in some cases the fires spread into the trees, resulting in a forest fire. There are many effects forest fires have on people and the environment. The most notable effect is the destruction of houses and fields. When a forest fire starts, it is very difficult to put out. The fire is blown many miles and spreads quickly by the wind. Eventually the forest fire will stop, but not after it has burned many acres of forest and communities. Recently, in California there were forest fires that burned almost 1,200,000 acres across northern California. Fifteen people died and 511 buildings were destroyed. Not only do forest fires destroy manmade structures, they also greatly affect the atmosphere. After the 1997 forest fire in Indonesia the fire was said to have released up to 2.5 gigatonnes of Carbon Dioxide into the atmosphere, which is about 40% of yearly emissions of fossil fuels. Although forest fires can also be started by lightning, the main cause of forest fires is people being careless. If people would just be more careful, they would prevent forest fires. The effects are noticeable; many acres of forest land are burned and lots of animals are affected by this. Many houses are also destroyed which leaves people homeless. The last effect is that the atmosphere is affected; more carbon dioxide is released and pollution is made.I think that forest fires are much underrated and people should be more aware of them. They should be considered very dangerous and people should try to avoid doing things that will cause them. The causes of forest fires mostly can be prevented which should make it less dangerous, yet people do not try hard enough to prevent them from happening. In conclusion, the causes of forest fires are both natural and human causes; the effects are substantial. https://jstrong14.wordpress.com/2009/05/21/cause-and-effect-essay/

Dynamite Fishing

Dynamite is an explosive material based on nitroglycerin, initially using diatomaceous earth (kieselgur: United States spelling; kieselguhr: United Kingdom spelling) or another absorbent substance such as powdered shells, clay, sawdust or wood pulp.Fishing Environmental impacts of fishing are the ecological changes brought on by the growth in global demand for fish as a food source, and even for aquarium use. These impacts are brought about through choice of fishing practices and the choice of the fishing gears. Dynamite Fishing The ocean is one of the most important & essential ecosystem in human life. It contains many organisms, such as fishes, squids, shellfishes, & seaweeds, which are one of the most important food sources for humans.  in many illegal activities just to earn money. One of this illegal activities is the use of dynamites in catching fish. Some people who do this kind of activity are the ones living near the sea. Dynamite fishing is one of the methods of catching fish. Correcting Destructive Fishing Correcting Destructive Fishing Fishing can be a very relaxing pastime in fact fishing is actually one of the most popular pastimes around the globe. Although it may sound strange. ILLEGAL FISHING The Philippines ranked 11th among the top fish producing countries in 2003 with the production of 2.63 million tonnes of fish, crustaceans, molluscs and aqua plants.

Illegal Logging

Instead of cutting trees, Plant trees for a greener environment. There is a one and only cause of illegal logging this is cutting of trees. That is the major cause of illegal logging, in that one cause.         There are too many effects this are flood tragedy one of a problem which is not solved by our government and human. Every year, sea surface is higher than land surface.          The sea surface will rise from 1 to 2 cm level. Flood tragedy is a filling land (soil surface) because one of a hard rain which is continues every day. So, the water in the river can over flow to the land. Unfortunately, the flood tragedy has negative effect such as many people who died, many homes which is filling a place and not flowing, and then the flood washed away many homes, plants, and pets.           The hard rain is very closely related by the forest. We know that if the earth has fertile forest, it will prevent flood tragedy because the root of plant can be absorbed by water. But if the earth has infertile forest, it will come flood tragedy. The infertile forest happen when the human do illegal logging. Illegal logging is a felling of trees in the forest area such as Protected Forest, Natural Park, and Industry Forest without reforestation and permission from the government. Illegal logging can destroy a forest in the earth             Many people are afraid with flood tragedy. But, we can not give up. We have to positive something. There are four main ideas to solve that problem. First of all, we must do reforestation system at the infertile forest. Second, soil conservation. Third, prohibition to burning forest. Finally, prevent field agriculture movement. "http://gmichael1395-insame.blogspot.com/2012/03/cause-and-effect-of-illegal-logging.html" The only person who can save mother earth is you.
